#17 Language in service of the unsayable

The word Abracadabra can be understood: I create as I speak.

Everyday we use language that has the power to enrich or deprives life of it’s essential quality and energy. When we enlarge our use of language, when we beg, borrow and steal from favorite finds, and secret worlds, we can transform our everyday experiences into something, well, magical.

Today’s episode begins by asking whether my own use of language in the service of others could be better understood if it were clearer, plainer, and simpler. It is a ramble that circles back to this question:

What sort of world do you want to live in? How important is poetry, and life’s mystery to you? Depending on your answer, how could you shift your own language of everyday experiences to stumble upon a deeper life that is waiting right there in front of you?
